| The Ouroboros route has collapsed! The combination of the Exterminator attack on Satyr and the closure of the Sol system to foreigners has diverted trade. The route is now much reduced in extend. Traders are now using The Ring as a major stopover. The only good news is for the Terpsichores. Increased traffic to the old Terpsichore system has stimulated trade there. |

Sophia, the Terran representative to The Ring, made the following impassioned
statment to the council:Statement to the Ring council: "Present our evidence? What evidence could we be possibly be talking about? Oh yes, the evidence that was presented TWO YEARS AGO. I direct you to the record of that council session: http://tony.dowler.com/SOS/News7.html Where it is revealed that the Exterminators occupy Proxima. Where a transmission directly from said Exterminators reveals their treaties with the Majestics. Where all this information has been in the possession of the council for TWO YEARS. The "onus of proof" has been met ages past while this council sat on its hands, tentacles, books, and leaves, now calling for insane bureaucracy to put off the issue even further. Apparently the Ring Factories can't be spared to defend the Galaxy- there are a lot of Orcheran colony ships and other vanity projects to make. To the Illithid representative- There is an Exterminator Battleship in Satyr. Perhaps you will get to see what they carry up close as you quote the Laws at them.It seems the Life of the Mind does not take place in Presence of Reality. Perhaps you should visit more at the University.To Sir Moljnir- Come and see the Proxima system anytime you like, but you sure as blazes won't be coming through Sol. None of your kind will, as any non-Terran ship to come there will be fired upon. I suggest you go back to the Majestic system and hang a hard left- I have no doubt there is a jump route that will lead you right there, undoubtedly with open arms.The Heartstrand Region, save Proxima, is now closed to all non-Terran ships.The Terrans withdraw from this ridiculous conglomeration of creatures calling themselves a Council." |
| After storming out of the council chamber, Sophia assembled all the Terran personnel at The Ring and departed for Earth. The Worlds' stands vacant and quiet. The Terran Embassy is closed. A few shops have moved into the concourse where the Fair used to be, but it is distincly not the same. |
| During a state visit to Barterworld, Tendril was attending a meeting with several of his business contacts on the planet. Somehow a deranged gunman gained entry to the meeting and shot Chairbeing Tendril at point blank range. Tendril was killed instantly. The perpetrator, a one-eyed Terpsichoran named Ingham, was killed by security forces. No one is sure if it was a planned assassination or if Ingham acted alone. Some people point to the increased rumors of Black Hole Cult activity on Barter. |

| Ominix, the Ring Factory administrator, orderd the construction of a new Carrier at The Ring. You can never be too careful. |
| The Tribe finally got around to founding an Embassy at The Ring. |
| A group of armed Tribe dissidents seized control of the Nomad Courier and blasted off from the Ring Station. Apparently the group were fundamentalists angry over the Tribe's increasing close relations with ground walkers. The name of the Black Hole Cult has also been whispered in relation to the incident. |
| Maladras, a promising military researcher, has been named as the new chief scientist of the Terpsichorans. |
| The Scientists completed research into HE3 Pumps. This technology improves mining of ancillary resources on HE3 bearing worlds. |
| Heartstrand Region |
| Terran military vessels began to enforce the new Terran policy of isolationism. Foreign personnel and traders were expelled from the system. The Ouroboros News front page features a picture of a Terpsichore family with a clutch of tearful larva being hustled aboard a shuttle. The closing of the Terran system also further disrupted the Ouroboros route, leaving many worlds isolated from trade. |
| Wiggun Military Academy trained more Terran ships in defensive maneuvers. "Not in our stary system" bumber stickers, with a picture of a dead Exterminator are all the rage on Earth. |
| The Terrans launched research into the fearsome technology of jump route destruction and a new battleship was built. |

| Cocoon Nebula Region |
| Queen Isolda declared a galactic holiday as the Majestic colony on Ragnarok was successfuly rebuilt. The Majestics also enhanced their presence at the ring with an official embassy. |
| A swarm of trade ships descended upon the Capernau system as the Tribe Armada turned its considerable economic might to creating a trade route between Capernau and the Majestic system. The Tribe has also built a small fleet of mining ships to gather raw materials to bolster the new route. This has brought much needed relief to the system. |
| Olympus Region |
| The Battle of Satyr Sir Mojnar was determined to engage the Exterminators and avenge the lost of Satyr station. The Cassandra and Atlanta squadrons jumped into Satyr ready for battle. They were met by the Orcheran Destroyer Group 1. It was three destroyer groups against two destroyer groups and a battleship, but the Exterminators lacked Sir Mojnar's brilliance. Sir Mojnar surprised the Exterminators at the jump point with an aggressive, almost reckless charge and gained the advantage. Heavy weapon fire on the Orcheran destroyers damaged one Exterminator destroyer goup. Return fire from the Exterminators was ineffective. The Peacekeepers swept in upon the damaged slave desrtoyers and destroyed several, disabling the rest of the group. Now the Exterminators had the attackers at close range. The big guns on Exterminator Moloch damaged Destroyer group 1, and additional fire from the slave destroyers disabled the group as a fighting force. Without any heavy weapons, Sir Mojnar considered retreating, but elected for another pass, but luck was not with him. Long range Exterminator fire damaged squadron Cassandra, and close range fire finished it off. As the Exterminators closed for the kill, Sir Mojnar ordered a suicide attack at the Exterminator Battleship. This daring move distracted the enemy long enough for the remaining Peacekeeper ships to escape back to Capernau heavily damaged. |
| Farstrand Region |
| The Ancient Site Investigations team published more findings this year, including extensive survyes of the sunken cities of Forgotten 2. These cities are buried deep beneath the world's perpetual ocean. Astonishingly, they were apparently once on dry land. No one has been able to ascertain how the sea level of the planet was so drastically raised. The Seeker, having competed its mission in Forgotten, relocated to the Cryos system. |
| The Ilithid military underwent training maneuvers. A new class of ship, the "Iron Shears" was built. |

| The Orcherans studied the Exterminator probe diligently at Xeriscape. So far, no major breakthroughs have been reported. |

| Tendril visisted Origel station on the way to his fateful visit to Barter. The residents were impressed, but declined to enter economic alliance for now. |

| The Terpsichorans increased security at the Penal Colony on Selenis II, and the militia were trained. Meanwhile, unrest continues in the shrine of the tree. It is feared that economic output will be threatened. There were no less than three attempts on the life of commander Garamond, though none came close to success. |

| The Orcheran people bowed their fronds in mourning over the death of Tendril. He was truly one of the greats. |
| Widows Gap |
| The Home Hive announced that Insectoid scientists have achieved a breakthrough in terraforming technology. Terraforming activities were imediately launched on all viable Insectoid worlds. |
| The Insectoids have bought into the HE3 boom, launching a research project into the viability of HE3 applications. A satellite defense grid assembly was also built. |
