1: Dwarves of the Red Anvil sink a shaft and strike a rich gold seam. The Age of Dwarves has begun. 10: Dwarves mine the gold seam and build barracks nearby in which to live. 20: Expansion of the Dwarven mine continues. 30: A workshop complex is built to accommodate expansion of the mine. 40: Miners building housing strike a rich gemstone deposit, bringing about a golden age. A Dwarven city is built named Grandash, along with a Great Hall. 50: A natural cave is unsealed and goblins swarm out, killing some miners. Dwarves built first tombs for their dead. 60: Plague is uncovered during mining operations, causing several deaths in the city. 70: Population recovers from losses. 80: A quiet age. 90: More goblins are encountered. Dwarves build defensive gates in some caves. 100: Goblins ambush a mining team, killing all. Gold seam is exhausted. 110: Dwarves strike an underground river. Dwarves flee the underground, abandoning their great city. Age of Dwarves ends. 135: After many years, flood waters recede. Many natural caves and tunnels have been formed in and around the abandoned city. Some Dwarven treasures remain hidden in sealed rooms. 136: A band of Dwarves from the Blue Iron tribe vow to re-take the underground. They found a camp named New Grandash in a network of abandoned mine tunnels and natural caves. 137: A band of Red Iron Dwarves arrives and installs a camp in an abandoned Dwarven barracks. Some lost treasures are recovered. New Grandash Dwarves clash with the new arrivals. 138: An Orge named Lumpquat enters the underground. After a raid on New Grandash, he is driven off to a natural cave deeper in the underground. 139: New Grandash attempts to raid Red Iron Colony, but are driven off. New Grandash is abandoned, with Red Iron Dwarves looting its treasures (such as they are). 140: Stendec the Minotaur attempts to set up a lair in Red Iron territory, but is driven off with some loss of life. 141: Tupelo’s Goblins found a camp in the old Dwarven workshops. They quickly expand their territory, discovered a cache of Dwarven gold. Stendec raids the goblins for food in the winter. Red Iron Dwarves send a raiding party after the Minotaur, but only succeed in driving him out of his lair to another location. 142: Drawn by rumors of monsters and gold, a party of five brave adventurers enters the underground. Adventurers encounter the Red Iron dwarves, who are of similar alignment. The dwarves pay the adventurers to seek out Stendec the Ogre, against whom they have a grudge. Adventurers slay a band of giant ants, losing one of their number in the fight. Adventurers slay Stendec the Orgre and take his loot. Adventurers are ambushed by Tupelo’s tribe. All are killed and the Goblins loot their treasure. 143: Goblin tribe attracts new immigrants due to its success. Goblins bribe the minotaur and promise future gifts of gold and food in return for protection. 1 Red Iron Dwarf is killed by a marauding gelatinous cube. Stendec the Minotaur begins to forage in the ancient Dwarven City, uncovering some treasure and monsters. 144: Expanding goblins loot some sealed Dwarven tombs. A new goblin tribe enters the underground, fighting a pitched battle with the Red Iron Dwarves. The goblins are wiped out, but the Red Iron Colony no longer has enough population to sustain itself. 145: Stendec the Minotaur loots treasures left by the Red Iron Tribe and collects bribes from Stendec’s Goblins. His horde grows large enough to attract an arch villain to the dungeon. The Age of Monsters ends. 146: A villain known only as the Lich Lord arrives and presses the goblins and the Minotaur into his service. With their amassed treasures, he is able to build a lair, an alchemical lab, and a tomb to house a skeleton legion. Goblins are hired to guard the two entrances to the underground. The Age of Villainy has begun. 147: A lone adventurer enters the underground through the natural cavern, but is killed by guards. 148: Goblins are paid to loot the remainder of the Red Iron treasure. The treasure is used to summon more skeleton legions. 149: In-fighting between Stendec and the goblins results in several dead goblins. All available tombs are now converted into treasure chambers or barracks of undead legions. A new tomb is built and stocked with goblin dead. 150: The Liche Lord hires a wandering Jelly. 151: A large party of five adventurers enters through the ancient dwarven gate, killing the guards and the Jelly. In a pitched battle in the tombs, the Liche lord and all his undead minions are slain, but the party is also destroyed, leaving their treasure strewn in the Liche Lord’s Liar. Thus ends the age of Villainy and the game.
